The England women’s rugby side comfortably secured their second title of the year as they added the Nations Cup to their Six Nations crown with a 41-19 victory over Canada. England lead 17-11 at the break but a powerful second period for Gary Street’s charges was too much for the host nation. Amy Garnett became the first England women’s player to win 100 caps.

South Africa have recorded a famous victory over the USA in a 26-23 thriller at the Nations Cup. South Africa trailed throughout the game but scored a late try to secure a victory that must be considered one of the biggest in their history. In the other group game England scored three second half tries to defeat Canada 22-10.

On day one of the women's Nations Cup in Ontario, there were wins for Canada and England. The host nation Canada defeated South Africa in a free-scoring attacking game of rugby with a final scoreline of 52-17. In the second game, USA pushed England all the way with the 6 Nations champions edging a 15-11 win in a hugely physical game.

Canada women's rugby head coach John Tait will see his 15 aside stars in action for their country for the first time at this week's Nations Cup. Tait, who was appointed after last year's World Cup, has already led Canada to top 7s titles already this season and he tell us his ambitions for his team for the competiton ahead. Canada will host the event.

With the Nations Cup set to kick off in the US on August 2nd, we preview each team ahead of the competition. England, the reigning Six Nations champions, are the favourites going into the competition. Canada will be hoping to turn their 2011 7s form into success on the 15s stage while the US and South Africa are hoping to build on their World Cup development.
