Canada's Gillian Florence and Mario Gallo tell us that confidence in high in the camp ahead of their team opening the Women's Rugby World Cup tomorrow against Scotland. The Canadians are confident that they can do well enough in their pool to qualify for the semi-finals. They named their team today .

We bring you an update from the Caribbean Championships being held this week in the Bahamas where the USA and Canada U20 sides are competing against the Cayman Islands and a combined Caribbean Islands team. The USA and Canada easily won their opening games and we've got a video highlight showing a try from16-year-old USA player Hayley Anderson.

The Canada women's rugby team had a World Cup send-off to remember before preparing to head to the UK for the competition which kicks off next week. Rugby Canada hosted a stylish send-off reception for the team in Toronto where a host of individual presentations were made. Canada flew to London after the event.

The annual Caribbean 15 aside international competition will take a more unusual format this year – with inclusion from the USA and Canada U20 teams. Instead of a spread of individual island nations taking part, asides from the Caymans and the Bahamas, teams in the region have combined to form a "Caribbean Select" with players from five countries.

The Canada women's rugby side claimed back to back victories over their nearest rivals, the USA, with a 34-22 win in the second test. Canada outscored the Americans five tries to two in the game which was the last run through for both sides before the World Cup.
