Years of planning will come to a head for the RFUW next Friday when the first ball is kicked at the Women's Rugby World Cup. Heading up the build-up and firmly at the helm of all organising for the competition is Rosie Williams, the managing director of the RFUW who tells us how continued integration with the RFU has been key to getting the event off the ground.

England have lost Claire Allan from their World Cup squad after the centre suffered a knee injury at a training camp this week. Michaela Staniford has been called up to the squad who are just weeks away from a World Cup on home soil. Allan's departure is a blow though Staniford is an ideal replacement.

England men's team manager Martin Johnson offered his support to the country's national women's rugby team when he visited the squad in Surrey, the venue of the Women’s Rugby World Cup which starts next month. The former World Cup winning captain passed on his support ande advice to the 26-women squad.

The England women’s rugby team will join the England men’s squad at Twickenham on August 11 for their annual summer training open day. The England women, who are competing in the Women’s Rugby World Cup in Surrey and South West London from August 20, will be led on the day by captain Catherine Spencer.
