We bring you all your team news ahead of the opening round of the women’s rugby 6 Nations this weekend. So far we've got the starting teams named from Scotland, Ireland, Wales and defending champions England. All four sides feature a number of new and youthful faces in the first game while Italy and France are yet to name their sides.

Irish captain Fiona Coghlan looks ahead to the women’s 6 Nations which kicks off next weekend. Ireland, who finished third last year, open the tournament with a home game on Friday night at Ashbourne against one of their biggest rivals Wales, a match in which there has been little to choose between the sides in recent years.

Fixtures and venues for the upcoming women’s 6 Nations have been confirmed. A number of games will be held at major stadiums this year including tests at Twickenham, the Millennium Stadium and the imposing Stade Charléty, in Paris. Ireland will kick the tournament off on Friday, February 3 against Wales at their Ashbourne RFC base.

Ireland's women coach Philip Doyle starts a four-week training camp knowing his side will be playing catch-up with their RBS 6 Nations rivals. Although a friendly match against Irish’s England-based exiles has been arranged, Doyle’s side will effectively head into the Championship without a Test match since their final match of their last campaign.
