England A beat Spain 10-5 with tries from senior star Kat Merchant and Jenny Edwards while France A had a more convincing 37-3 victory. Having lost 29-0 to the same opposition this time last year, Spain game into their game with revenge in mind and a gave their more experienced opponents a tough workout.

Italy head coaches Andrea Di Giandomenico and Luca Bot will travel to Ireland next week searching for their first victory over the Irish in the Women’s 6 Nations. Since joining the 6 Nations competition in 2007 in the place of Spain, the Italians have managed just one victory over Scotland but they pushed Ireland, France and Scotland close last year. We talked to Italy captain Paola Zangirolami.

The majority of fixtures for the 2010 Women’s Six Nations have been set with only a small number of dates and venues to be confirmed. Ireland will play all of their home games at Ashbourne RFC as Friday night fixtures while England will use Esher as their base once again this year. Scotland will use a number of venues, while France have lined up the magnificent Stade Velodrome to face England in the last game.

This weekend’s NACRA 7s tournament in Mexico City will see a first ever outing for the Bahamas women’s rugby team. Twelve players will represent the Bahamas at the event.
This weekend’s NACRA 7s tournament in Mexico City will see a first ever outing for the Bahamas women’s rugby team. Twelve players will represent the Bahamas at the event organised by the North America Caribbean Rugby Association where they will play against the women’s sides of St Lucia, the Cayman Islands, Jamaica and Guyana.

Four sides have expressed an interest in hosting the Women's Rugby World Cup in 2014. Kazakhstan, New Zealand, Samoa and the USA all submitted a formal interest in hosting event ahead of the deadline at the end of October.

Rugby World Cup Limited will now analyse the tenders prior to the IRB Council selecting the Host Union for Women's Rugby World Cup 2014 at its meeting in May.
