Scotland and Italy played out a dour 6-6 draw in Colleferro in round three of the women's 6 Nations. Italy led 6-0 at the break but two penalties from Sarah Gill meant Scotland took something from the game in the second half.

Italy scored after ten minutes when Veronica Schiavon knocked over a penalty and she put another three between the sides later in the half to give the home team a 6-0 lead at the break.

Wales touched down three tries in the first half with wing Caryl James crossing twice and veteran fullback Non Evans (pictured) scorinh.  Scotland couldn't get back into the match though Lynne Reid scored a late try.

A late try from centre and player of the match Lucy Millard secured victory and the win will prove a massive boost to the side who finished fifth last season after a string of average performances. The victory also hands Gary Parker, the new coach, a super start to his tenure.
