A year after finishing the 6 Nations in second place and winning a Triple Crown, Wales have ended this year's competition in bottom place after a shock loss to Italy. The Italians won the game 19-15 after trailing 12-0 at half time. Three tries in the second half gave the visitors a morale boosing victory.

When Wales take on Italy at Bridgend this Sunday it will be a last ditch attempt to salvage what has been an anti-climactic women's rugby 6 Nations, but winning isn’t the only thing on the mind of  Non Evans. A star of Wales rugby for many years, Non is on track to earn one of the greatest accolades in international rugby - breaking the world try scoring record.

Wales women's rugby coach Jason Lewis says he is urging his side to finish the 6 Nations on a positive note with a good victory over Italy. Wales come into the match on the back of consecutive defeats to Ireland and France. Lewis has resisted the temptation to make changes to his starting lineup and has named the same team to take to the field this weekend.

Ireland bounced back in some style from two defeats in as many games with a stirring 18-3 defeat of Wales on home soil. Tries from Niamg Briggs, Tania Rosser and Joy Neville helped Ireland to a comfortable win as Wales could only reply with a penalty from Non Evans. Ireland led 5-3 at the break after Niamh Briggs made up for a missed penalty with a well taken try.

The women’s rugby coaches of Wales and Ireland have both made a raft of tactical changes ahead of their clash on Friday night. The two teams come into the game desperate for a win after losses in the last round. Ireland put up a brave fight against England but were outscored three tries to one while Wales fell short in France.
