An article in the Financial Times this week lists the plans by the Women’s World Cup organisers to ensure the event breaks even on a budget of £1m. The IRB has provided a grant of £750,000 to support the tournament and costs include around £200,000 to fly all 12 teams into London and £450,000 to accommodate the squads over the three weeks.

Kate Clements talks to the organisers behind the England deaf team who are looking for eligible women's players to help form the first England Women's Deaf Team. To be eligible, players must be deaf or hard of hearing, but do not have to have complete hearing loss.

With a relatively small playing pool, Germany compete sporadically on the international stage but are hoping to boost their exposure in the years ahead. We talked to Marina Apfel and Jana Eisenbeiß - the co-captains of the national 7s side.
