Scrumqueens.com has launched its first annual 7s competition as the women's rugby website today announced it was part of the new RugbyRocks 7s tournament taking place in Richmond next summer
The www.scrumqueens.com women's 7s competition will take place alongside the opening leg of the newly formed Elite National Sevens Series as well as a men's open 7s event at the west London event on June 12, 2010.
Website Editor, Alison Donnelly said: "The Rugby Rocks 7s event is one of a number new major 7s tournaments taking place next year and we're delighted to be part of this event being held in a great location. We're looking for up to 12 women's teams to take part so if your club is interested get in touch on the contact details below."
The Rugby Rocks 7s event will include DJ tents, appearances from international men's and women's players, music from top acts who will be announced in the coming weeks and stars of the future can learn from the best in coaching sessions with leading players from the Guinness Premiership.
Donnelly added" "With 7s getting the nod for Olympic inclusion earlier this year, the format will need a stronger platform in the coming years and increased competitions throughout the summer like the Rugby Rocks event will bring on the skills of players and give more exposure to rugby 7s and women's rugby. More importantly this event promises to be a great day out."
For those not playing there will some top notch action on the day as leading men's teams will also be on show featuring national level players from across the UK competing in the National Sevens Series.
