The Netherlands women's rugby side have beaten the World Cup bound Sweden team twice this weekend in a two-test series in Holland.
The Dutch women won the first game 19-0 on Friday night and the second game 20-7 in two convincing performances on home turf. Both sides will contest the Fira European Trophy in France next month.
In Leiden in Friday night the home team wrapped the game up with a strong first half performance despite poor weather conditions.
The Dutch scored three first half tries to lead 19-0 at the break in driving wind and rain, with the pick of the scores coming from Kelly van Harskamp - a try scoring machine for the Netherlands with 10 touchdowns in her last four international matches.
Sweden picked up their game in the second half but couldn't find a way through a resolute Dutch defence and there was no score in that second period.
On Sunday, the home team again were impressive with a 20-7 victory at the National Stadium in Amsterdam.
The game again was played in poor weather but Sweden came out firing and dominated the first 15 mins with some strong forward play. Their early efforts were rewarded with a try in the 10th minute from Henrietta Högberg.
The Dutch team were under pressure in the scrum but played well in defence and forced a host of turnovers which kept them in the game.
The home team found their way before the break a try from Inge Visser left the score at 7-5 at the turnaround,
The host team upped the ante in the second half with a try in the corner from Elke van Meer who chased a perfect grubber kick from Rita Wiri. There was another well taken try shortly after from Kelly van Harskamp which Lorainne Laros converted and she later added a penalty to make sure of the win.
The two wins means that the Netherlands will travel to France next month to the Europeans in fine form and confident of doing very well at the competition. They are due to play Germany in April.
Sweden are still building towards the World Cup and will have learned some valuable lessons in these two defeats.
