Moldova and Ukraine take Euro spoils

In a hectic weekend of international  women's rugby, Moldova and Ukraine were crowned FIRA European 7s champions in their respective leagues while in other 15 aside games Kenya beat Uganda 8-0 in a friendly game and Japan beat Hong Kong 17-0.

Moldova and Ukraine take Euro spoils

There were two major 7s events at the weekend with FIRA organising two competitions featuring 24 of the second tier of women's nations across two venues.

In Bucharest the Division A leg of the competition was won by Moldova who beat Switzerland 19-17 in the final game. That pool had also featured Czech Republic, Malta, Belgium, Austria, Iisreal, Romania, Andorra, Bulgaria, Latvia and Crotia.

In Odense where the Division B competition was held, Ukraine beat Hungary in the final where the other teams were Poland, Denmark, Georgia, Luxembourg, Bosnia Herzegovina, Slovenia, Serbia, Norway, Lithuania, Nordic Barbarians.

Meanhwhile at the Amsterdam 7s, a team made up of Dutch international players beat Spain in the final on a 19-5 scoreline - more details on that competitiohere.

In Asia over the weekend , Japan beat Hong Kong 17-0, in a match which served as a curtain raiser to a major Asian 5 Nations game.

Finally in Africa Kenya beat Uganda 8-0.
