World Cup Round Two: Key Stats

These teams have played each other ten teams since 1994, when Australia made their debut on the international stage. New Zealand have won all ten meetings and the most recent match was the closest result when the Black Ferns won 22-16 in Sydney in 2008. The largest New Zealand win was 64-0 in 1995. They have met once before at a World Cup back in 2002 in a pool game where New Zealand won 36-3.

Their first international was in 1990 v Netherlands where they won 56-0. They were the World Cup winners in 1998, 2002 and 2006 and equal third 1991. They did not enter in 1994 due to the IRBs decision not to endorse the event.

First international was in 1994 v New Zealand where they lost 37-0.Their best World Cup finish was 5th in 1998 while they were 7th in 2002 and 2006. Ten of Australias 28 tests have been against New Zealand

These sides have met 16 times with France winning 11 of these matches - though Scotland won the most recent encounter in the 2010 6 Nations. That 10-8 win was Scotland's first over France since 2003. The largest French win was in 1995 where they won 48-18 and the largest Scottish win was at the 1998 World Cup where they won 27-7 in the Plate Semi-Final.

Their first international ws in 1982 v Netherlands in the historic first ever womens international where they won 4-0. Their victory over Sweden last Friday was Frances 100th international win. The French have finished third in every World Cup, except 1998 (8th).

Their first international was in 1993 v Ireland where they won 10-0. Scotland's best world cup finish was 5th in 1994 and they were 6th in 1998, 2002 and 2006.

This is the clash of the champions of Europe vs the champions of Asia. There are just two previous meetings between the two sides back in 2000 and 2001 in European Championships with England winning both, 41-3 and 29-15.

England have played more internationals than any other team with their international back in 1987 v Wales where the won 22-4. They were the World Cup winners 1994 and the runners-up 1991, 2002, 2006. They were third 1998. They are the Six Nations champions for past five seasons.

Their first international was in 1993 v Germany where they lost 10-11. Their best World Cup finish was 9th (1994, 1998) and they finished 11th in 2002 and 2006. They switched from FIRA/Europe to Asia after 2001/2. They had played 30 matches in nine years before move but have only played only 16 matches in eight years since.They have bid to host the 2014 World Cup.
