Savannah Bauder got scoring started at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Massachusetts in the 13th minute of play, with Claire Gallagher converting the try to put Canada up 7-0. The United States tied the game four minutes later, but Canada responded with four more tries in the first half.
Zoe Williams took advantage of a turnover to score her first of the game, converted by Bauder and giving the Canadians back the lead. Twenty-seven minutes in, Carmen Izyk scored on the wing, with Bauder once again kicking a clean conversion, followed up by yet another try from Williams and Bauder’s third conversion of the game.
Another turnover led to Canada’s final try before half-time, with Tylo Borsboom scoring to put Canada up 33-7.
Izyk scored her second try of the game in the opening minutes of the second half, followed by a try from captain Gallagher, converted by Bauder. Two players came off the bench to contribute to the scoresheet in the final minutes, Corinne Fréchette and Maelle Reed.
While the United States scored once more with five minutes remaining, Canada won by a score of 55-14.
* The result continues Canada's dominance of 15-a-side internationals against their greatest rivals, the USA. Since July 2013 Canadian XVs teams have won 25 times against USA (seniors and age group). USA have won 6.
