Dutch come from behind against Brazil

Brazil qualified for the 2025 World Cup earlier this year, and as part of their preparation went to Amsterdam for two tests against the Dutch.

The first test was on Thursday 28th November, in Amsterdam,

In the cold Dutch weather, Brazil - the "Yaras" - started the match strong, having more play and more territory. However, with few chances for either side, the score remained at zero until the 31st minute, when Brazil scored the first try, on a counterattack, with Edna breaking away to score with a run starting in his own half. Lohana converted, opening up a 7-0 lead.

The Dutch reacted before the break and, based on pressure from the forwards, the Oranje crossed the line with the pick and go with the prop Veerkamp. With the conversion almost in front of the posts missed, Brazil went into the break winning by 7-5.

However, the second half saw the Netherlands take command. At 52', the Dutch were rewarded with a try from flyhalf Ligtvoet, creating space in the attacking 22. Without the conversion near the in front of the posts again missed, the game remained open, with the Dutch leading 10-7 into the final minutes. But after yellow card against Brazil in the final stretch of the second half, the Netherlands scored a decisive try at 72' with scrum-half Egberts. 15-7, final numbers.

“It was our first game in this sequence and with many athletes making their debut,” commented Edninha, highlighting that Brazil had 7 athletes making their debut with the national team. “We will work hard until the next game, we are growing, playing at an international level and testing many girls. We are on the right path,” he concluded.

The December 4 duel will be again at the NRCA in Amsterdam at 7:30 pm Dutch time.
