The England women’s rugby team will jointhe England men’s squad at Twickenham on August 11 for their annual summer training open day.

The England women, who are competing in the Womens Rugby World Cup in Surrey and South West London from August 20, will be led on the day by captain Catherine Spencer as she and her teammates train from 1.15pm as part of the open training and family day at the stadium. The Englands mens training session will start at 2.30pm.
England are hosting the World Cup this August and September with the pool games being staged at the Surrey Sports Park in Guildford, and the semi finals and final at The Stoop.
England, who are the reigning RBS 6 Nations Grand Slam champions, are ranked second for the world cup, but most recently defeated world champions, New Zealand, at Twickenham in November.
Spencer said: We had the privilege of playing at Twickenham last year and to be able to train there in front of England supporters will be fantastic, especially just days before the world cup.
We are all currently training extremely hard as we move closer to our first game on August 20th against Ireland, so to train at the home of England Rugby will be a real boost for us. It also gives some budding internationals out there a great chance to see us in action and pick up some of their own training tips.
In other England news the first ever RFUW representative has been elected to join the RFU Council. Deborah Griffin, who was instrumental in setting up the Women's Rugby Football Union in 1984, has joined the council in a historic move.
