After the opening day of the U18 Asia 7s in Malaysia there seemed to be only one winner. India were unbeaten having seen off tournament favourites - Hong Kong - and 2023 winners - UAE. The perennial "near miss" team of the tournament looked like they were on their way to a title at last.
But on Day 2 they failed to win a single game, missing the final and eventually ending fourth behind Malaysia.
That left Hong Kong as winners of the pool, and Thailand runners-up to meet them in the final - which Hong Kong won comfortably, giving them their first title since 2016.
