The USA has launched a slick new social media campaign promoting its international womens rugby team and counting down its journey to the World Cup later this year.
Centred by the website, www.wewantrugby.com, the campaign includes new motivating straplines such as We WaNT to crush preconceptions and We WaNT to invade England as well as new Twitter, Facebook and Flickr accounts. The focus on the letters WNT specify that this campaign is all about the USAs womens national team.
The website includes video footage of the team preparing, individual player biogs, a full annual training and playing schedule and details on how you can donate funds to the side.
The Twitter, Flickr and Facebook sites are now active with fans able to engage with the squad throughout the build-up to the site.
The campaign is one of the slickest out there launched by a womens rugby union in recent times and sets strong standards in terms of engaging with fans and potential players.
New features will be added to the home website in the coming months including an e-store selling WNT merchandise and a Coach's Corner, as well as additional funny and interesting tidbits about life as an Eagle.
