BBC to air England games

England games have been traditionally shown on Sky Sports, with BBC often showing highlights and games on the Red Button, but rarely giving it a prime network sport.

This weekend's lunch-time game in Grenoble in France, and the return game in London, presents therefore a huge opportunity for the sport in front of a large audience on a free-to-air platform and comes after a disappointing week for the women's game with the cancellation of the rest of the Six Nations and the postponement of Europe's World Cup qualifiers.

Presenters and commentators Lee McKenzie, Sara Orchard and Sonja McLaughlan have been lined up to front the games while ex England stars Kat Merchant and Maggie Alphonsi are also likely to be involved.

England will go into the tests on the back of a strong end to their Six Nations campaign, while France will want to bounce back from their shock draw with Scotland. The listing for this weekend's game ishere
