A month after their test against Germany in Aachen, the Belgiums crossed the channel to play Ealing Trailfinders, who include Belgian 7s international Ella Amory in their team.

Ealing fielded a strong team, with Benjamin Rossignol, Belgian co-coach, explaining that the side was minus its internationals but a first team nonetheless.

The teams were therefore well matched with Belgium, who lost 24-0, conceding two tries in the first half and two in the second.

“On the defensive side, we put out a great performance, against a very professional and therefore sharp set of players,” said Rossignol.

"Three of their tries were due to our own errors. So it's very positive. We really showed character defensively."

Belgium intend to rejoin the European Championship in 2025.
