France retain Euro U18 7s crown

Seven teams entered this year’s U18 7s tournament, which was organised as a single “league” played over two days, and the hosts. France, emerged winners, only seriously challenged by Spain in the final game.

France’s total dominance of age group rugby in Europe therefore continues. You have to go back to 2017 to find a French defeat – to England.

With England (along with Scotland and Wales) not taking part this year, France were firm favourites and more than lived up to that, keeping clean sheets in four of their six games, and only being challenged by Spain in the final match.

Czechia took third, Ireland fourth, Belgium fifth, Portugal sixth and Poland seventh.

Czechia 33-12 Belgium; Czechia 31-0 Poland; Spain 31-0 Belgium; France 43-0 Ireland; Poland 10-19 Portugal; Spain 19-5 Czechia; Belgium 5-21 Ireland; Portugal 5-38 France; Poland 5-27 Spain; Ireland 12-15 Czechia; Belgium 36-0 Portugal; France 40-0 Poland; Ireland 28-5 Poland; Portugal 5-22 Spain; Czechia 0-36 France; Spain 22-12 Ireland; Portugal 0-36 Czechia; Belgium 0-36 France; Ireland 43-0 Portugal; Poland 0-38 Belgium; France 15-12 Spain
