France U20 hammer England

France U20 scored eight tries in the second half of their match against England in Rouen today, on the way to a massive 74-0 victory.

As well as being France's biggest win in the fixture, it was also the worst defeat ever suffered by any English women's team.

A French win was not unexpected. They had won 20 of the previous 21 games - and the exception was a draw. England had only ever beaten France once, back in 2011.

And at halftime - despite France leading 22-0 - the game had been fairly even. England had defended well and had their opportunities at the French end.

But the second half was another level. While Kelly Arbey scored a hat-trick, all the other tries were shared out among the French team, and came very regularly, particularly down the wings (which is partly why only five of the twelve were converted).

The return fixture in England is on 4th May.
