Big win for Colombia in warm-up

The Colombian Women's Rugby Team, known as the Tucanes, obtained an overwhelming victory against Trinidad and Tobago, in their last preparatory match, with a final score of 96 to 0. This victory is an important milestone in their preparation to qualify for the 2025 World Cup in England, in the key match against Brazil that will be played on June 29 in Asunción, Paraguay.

Luis Pedro Achard, Head coach of the Tucanes, expressed his satisfaction with the result: "Winning is good, especially at home and with a rival that was at the top of our ranking, so it strengthens a lot for our final preparation.

"This was a good pre-test for the match against Brazil."

The Trinidad and Tobago team is ranked 25th in the world, while Colombia is ranked 28th, making this victory a significant achievement.

The team captain, Camila Lopera, also shared her impressions after the game:

"This gives us confidence, security, but we are not satisfied.

"We know that Brazil is a stronger team than Trinidad and Tobago, now what follows is to adjust those little things that we missed and continue improving so that we can play the match against Brazil on June 29."

Miguel Herrera, vice president of Colombia Rugby, highlighted the positive impact of this result: "I have very good feelings about this match, that the team has confidence and showed it with Trinidad and Tobago. The preamble is very positive and this shows that the Federation is moving on the right path.

"The result is not only the result of sporting preparation, but is also the result of what the Federation is doing at an institutional level so that the team has the support required to arrive in good shape for the match against Brazil."

The team, along with the technical staff, will travel next Wednesday, June 19, to Paraguay, where they will continue their preparation prior to Brazil.
